Claire McGrath

Claire McGrath

For those who do know me, I am Claire, one of the coaches for Rock's CardioBox and Fitness. My fitness journey started as a child, being involved in sports my entire life, mostly being a competitive swimmer. After high school, I did some things here and then, but in 2010 I was introduced to group fitness. I absolutely fell in love with the concept of working out with others. Right around the same time I discovered Body Combat, and well, it became an obsession that continues to this day. It was in that Body Combat class that I met Rochelle, and she introduced me to boxing.

Group Fitness has brought so much to my life, including a strong desire to achieve a healthy lifestyle and life-long friendships. There was a day I truly believed I could never teach a class, but with the support of THIS group, I now coach small group trainings, boxing/strength classes when needed and my all time favorite....Cardio Kick!

Come check out some classes, and I promise you will find YOUR passion, along with an amazing support system who will be behind you 100%!

Kato Meley

Kato Meley

My name is Kato & I’ve been a member of Rock’s CardioBox for about a year & a half, and I’ve recently become a Certified Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor.

I moved back to this area (where I grew up) from California, after retiring in 2017 to care-take several ailing family members. Watching them struggle as they experienced deteriorating mobility, balance, endurance, & strength caused me to question my commitment to my health. I was inspired to look for a fitness program to help me remain active, agile and strong as I moved toward my senior years.

Joining Rock’s CardioBox was the start of an extremely rewarding and effective fitness journey for me. What I’ve found here is a very supportive community. The coaching staff and the members are all so encouraging and uplifting. It’s because of the positive energy this studio provided me, that I decided I’d like to share it with others who are beginning or continuing their own fitness journey. My next step was to become a Certified Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor.

Rock has entrusted me with coaching the GoldiRock’s Gang, a wonderful group of mostly seniors or those with some mobility limitations - and I learn so much from them! I look forward to growing with this studio and teaching more classes in the future.

I’d love you to come along on this incredible journey with me. Always remember, it’s never too late to start!

Rochelle Meiskey

Rochelle Meiskey

My name is Rochelle (Rock) and in 1996 I walked into a boxing gym, in the hopes of building self-confidence. A few weeks later, I stepped into the ring with headgear and mouthguard!
I fell in love with the sport, competing against others, competing with myself, and I loved the community I was part of.

When I finished competing on an amateur level, I continued with boxing workouts and I became Les Mills certified in Body Combat. I taught classes at Gold's Gym and another local gym for a few years until I went off on my own to teach CardioBox classes.

Today, I am Safe Sport certified, a Certified Personal Trainer and a USA Boxing Green Level coach!
It’s been 28 years and I never lost sight of my passion. I want women to feel as empowered as I did when I put on a pair of boxing gloves… or when they toss a med ball or when they pick up a pair of dumbbells!

I spend A LOT of time trying to figure out how to remain true to myself, my mission, my coaches and my clients… and I try to find ways to impact lives in a meaningful way.

I’m growing a community that is positive and supportive. I want to create an a warm, welcoming, clean environment where there is no judgement. I will remove negative thoughts, vibes, words and people, the best I can.

I want to make sure everyone is clear on our mission: To empower women in the community and help them find a healthy balance between fitness, nutrition and mental well-being. Although we now have expanded to include men, teens and kiddos, we will never lose sight of why we first started: to empower women - inside and outside of the gym.

I also will never forget our roots. We started out as a couple friends who hit mitts in the park. We rented out the local Armory and collected enough money to cover the rent. We then moved to Rising Sun Nutrition and kicked off our first class with 20 people in a small fitness room. A year later, we grew so much, we rented out a local warehouse for three years.

We are now in the beautiful Cimarron building in the heart of downtown Columbia. We have a bright, clean fitness studio with eight windows and a garage door! You’ll notice that our studio is more of an intimate space where we’ll keep the size of classes to a minimum and maximum so we’re able to provide more personal attention to our guests.

We launched an official MOBILE FITNESS branch and have been working with local municipalities on permits and approvals and will be popping up at businesses and parks this spring, summer and fall!

Anyway, I just want to thank you for your support and hope that you find value with us. I hope you can see and experience for yourself how different we are!

XOXO
Rock
